ISLAMABAD: An eight-member delegation of kinoo exporters is visiting Indonesia to explore and re-establish the Pakistani kinoo market there.
Pakistan’s Mission in Jakarta is facilitating the delegation of Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industries led by Ch. Muhammad Shoaib for a week-long visit.
According to a message received here on Wednesday, Indonesia has been a huge market for Pakistan but kinoo exports have declined due to tough competition from China, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, lack of packaging facilities and various non-tariff barriers raised by the government.
Pakistan- Indonesia preferential trade agreement (PTA) has been in operation from September 1, 2013, in which customs tariff on kinoo and nine other fruits have been waived off.
